A Couple of Questions for ... Buzz Aldrin
By Marc D. Allan
Buzz Aldrin offers commentary for Live From the Moon, which airs Nov. 17 on the National Geographic Channel:
Q: Have you ever met any of the people who claim there never was a moon landing and, if so, what do you say to them?
A: Yeah. I smacked one of them. He pissed me off. I met him at an air base when I was promoting a book, and I thought he was just going to interview (me) regarding the book I was promoting. So I sat down and he wanted to tape me while I was looking at his (video) claiming that we didn't go to the moon. So I said, "This is baloney. I didn't come here to do this." So I got rid of him. But then I heard he had bothered a number of the other guys. What he really wanted to videotape you swearing on his bible that you went to the moon.
Q: Do you have a relationship with Neil Armstrong? You seemed to indicate that there were jealousies and some of the astronauts who went to the moon don't talk to each other.
A: Yeah. We're kind of moon buddies. I was not being at all specific about any particular one.
